Nurse Practitioner, Family Medicine
Augustina Nyeche was born in Rivers States, Nigeria. She moved to Virginia where she earned both her Bachelor’s and her Master’s with Honors degrees in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University. Augustina is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Sigma Theta Tau International which is an academic honor society, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).
Augustina began working as a Certified Nurse’s Aid. As she advanced in her career, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse and a Registered Nurse, eventually working her way up to being a Family Nurse Practitioner. She started by working primarily in the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the Coronary Care Unit, and the Spinal Cord Injury Units. She has additional experience in student health, geriatric nursing, correctional health, urgent care, and rehabilitation center nursing. Augustina also serves as a preceptor to nurse practitioner students from Virginia Commonwealth University and the Catholic University of America.
As a wife and mother of three lovely children: Peace, Prosper, and Victory; she is dedicated to ensuring the health and well-being of her patients and their families. She enjoys road trips and cooking with her husband Sam. Augustina is an enthusiastic dancer, and enjoys organizing and promoting African cultural events in her free time.
