Dr. Sanjeeda Hakim was born and raised in Bangladesh. She moved to the United States at the age of 16. She attended Hunter College as an undergraduate and completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the prestigious NYU College of Dentistry in Manhattan, New York.
After graduation, Dr. Hakim spent a year in a General Practice Residency program at Lincoln Hospital in Bronx, NY prior to moving to Richmond. During her residency, she gained extensive training in oral surgery, periodontal surgery and prosthodontics while serving the underserved population of the Bronx. She spent a year working in a private practice before joining Capital Area Health Network in 2017.
Dr. Hakim’s love for dentistry originated from her passion to serve the community and help people smile. She is always striving to provide exceptional patient care by furthering her dental education with many hours of Continuing Education courses while utilizing the latest techniques and technologies in dentistry.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and spending quality time with her family. She is fluent in Bengali and speaks conversational Hindi and Urdu. She also knows how to read and write Arabic.
