Licensed Clinical Social Worker
As a native of Richmond, VA; a husband and a father, Sherwood attributes each moment of his life to his cultural and spiritual upbringing. With 10 years progressive experience in Social Work practice, Sherwood expresses a Cognitive Behavioral approach to integrative care, while at the same time seeking to focus on the whole person; mental, physical, emotional and spiritual. Sherwood has served in multiple capacities within the field and enjoys working within urban and rural communities of underserved populations. Sherwood attended the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Social Work in which he obtained both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work. Sherwood later obtained his License in Clinical Social Work through the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Health Professionals. Sherwood attended the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in which he obtained his Master’s of Divinity Degree and serves within two congregations in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Sherwood currently serves as a trainer in Mental Health First Aid (Adult) seeking to continue to educate and advance the community while at the same time decreasing the stigma placed on universal access to appropriate and affordable mental healthcare. Sherwood maintains that people remain one of the most resilient and evolutionary creations on earth and he looks forward to every new opportunity to aid in the development and maturation of such growth.
