About Me
Stephanie W. Ferguson’s areas of expertise includes work with adolescents age 17 and older, young and older adults, professionals, couples and families. Treatment specialties also include Depression, Anxiety and Panic, PTSD-trauma, Parent -Child Relationship Problems, Attachment, ADHD, Life Transitions and Adjustment, Greif and Loss, Couples, Substance Use and Abuse, Self Identity and is LGBTQIA+ affirming.

Stephanie uses a variety of therapeutic modalities with her clients to include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, Attachment Theory, psychodynamic, solution focused therapy, strengths based, mindfulness, psychoeducational, play and creative art self expression. She is a certified trauma therapist. Stephanie is also trained in Somatic Therapy (understanding the link between the body and our emotions)

She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 20+ years social work. Stephanie has a Bachelors in Social Work from James Madison University and a Masters in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She s a licensed therapist that has experience working with multidisciplinary teams, medical social work, crisis/emergency services, inpatient, outpatient, play therapy, psychosocial assessments, case management, treatment planning, group therapy, public education as well as connecting clients and families to services within the community. She has 10 years of supervisory and program management experience in the for-profit and non-profit arenas.

As a young child, Stephanie knew she wanted to help others. Helping others comes naturally to her and she is passionate about it. She loves bearing witness to the process of self discovery and helping clients courageously explore the unknown. Her style is warm and open. She offers a space to “just be” that is free from judgement and offers unconditional positive regard. Stephanie works in helping others to understand “where they came from”, themselves and their wants in life is part of the therapeutic process. You are hurting, which is why you are here.
