Convenient, Expert, Local Healthcare at Affordable Prices

CAHN has a proud and rich history steeped in the communities we serve throughout Richmond. From our beginning as Vernon J. Harris East End Community Health Center, located in historic Church Hill of Richmond, we have grown to include six locations and one mobile unit serving the Metropolitan Richmond area. Our growth honors Dr. Vernon J. Harris, for whom the flagship site is named. Dr. Harris’ commitment to serve the underserved during times of economic distress is alive today through the services we provide our patients.

Community Health Centers

CAHN is designated as a Federally Qualified Community Health Center under the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA). It is through this designation that we partner with the federal government to provide care to underserved individuals in our communities. Many times, without this partnership, our most medically needy residents would not have access to high quality and timely medical and dental care.

Statement of Commitment

“CAHN is committed to build upon its charge to provide health care services, referrals, and preventive care. In meeting the growing needs of our current and future patients, we will increase our capacity to provide primary and specialty care services, patient education, and advocacy.

The ultimate goal of CAHN is to eliminate health disparities, respond to diverse community needs, and improve the quality of life for the medically underserved and those experiencing barriers to care. We will promote health equity by ensuring access and health literacy designed to empower residents.

CAHN will serve as a reliable ‘access point’ for connecting residents to health and human support services. We will continue to dedicate ourselves to collaborating with health departments, government agencies, foundations, local physicians, schools and community-based organizations to meet the health care and service support needs of the families and individuals that we are privileged to serve.
