Transportation
Capital Area Health Network (CAHN) provides transportation services to patients who encounter challenges with transportation. Patients must live within a 12-mile radius of the CAHN location for their appointment. We provide transportation from your home to your doctor’s appointment regardless of the insurance you carry. We provide transportation to all patients to include those who have VCC (Virginia Coordinated Care), uninsured/self-pay, and insured (i.e. private insurance, government health insurances, etc.).
Capital Area Health Network offers transportation Monday – Friday. Below are the pickup times:

Below is a list of insurance carriers that provide transportation services for their clients:
- Medicaid – Logistic Care provides transportation for patients with Medicaid
- Contact 1-800-742-9758 (requires a 5-day notice) or call the Member Services number on the back of your insurance card.
- Medicaid HMOs – Transportation is provided by the recipient’s insurance plan
- Contact 1-800-742-9758 (requires a 5-day notice) or call the Member Services number on the back of the insurance card. Examples of Medicaid HMOs are:
- Anthem HealthKeepers Plus
- Optima Health
- Coventry
- VA Premier (the transportation number is on the back of the insurance card)

- Medicare – Patients have to submit a Care Van (GRTC) application after making the first appointment with CAHN. To contact GRTC’s Care Van, call 804-474-9922 or 804-782-CARE (782-2273).
Transportation is not available for appointments before 8:30 a.m. or after 4:00 p.m.
